CERAE is a cross-governmental network which aims to provide a community and shared space for all care experienced Civil Servants and those who grew up without ‘traditional’/typical family structures to be a part of, if they so desire. This includes people who have been in foster care, who are Care Leavers, who were homeless youths, orphaned, in kinship care, experienced youth estrangement that may be ongoing (e.g. young people who were disowned for being LGBT+, escaping domestic abuse, leaving their religion, etc.) and others who may have fallen through the gaps of LA care and some of the stricter definitions of ‘Care Leaver’.
